Petrocultures 2014: Oil, Energy & Canada's Future

Examining ways oil and the oil industry touch and affect our lives

Posted by on

I am off to Montreal tomorrow to participate on a panel at this McGill University event.  I will be part of a panel theme of “Who Owns the Oil?”

I will talk on the evolution of the oil sands in a triple-bottom-line approach to responsible and sustainable resource development culture.

PETROCULTURES will bring together leading figures to discuss and debate the role of oil and energy in shaping social, cultural and political life in Canada at present and in the future. This unique conference is organized in partnership with the University of Alberta, and will be a genuinely national event involving representatives of all of Canada’s regions.

One of the key developments shaping social and political debate in Canada in the twenty-first century has been the country’s emergence as an energy superpower.

I think the event will be streamed live.  I will Tweet the link if that is happening.

In the meantime check out this link for more information on the conference.

I might even sneak off an catch a game at the Canadian Women’s national curing championship while in Montreal.
